- The Step Muther is the big business industry who screws over the working-class citizen so he can build a tennis court next to his golf course in his 24-acre back yard.
- The Step Muther is the politician who spends $200 million on campaign advertising but then refuses to spend a dime to help developing countries once he's in office.
- The Step Muther is the lawyer who defends the murderer she knows is guilty just so she can cash another check.
- The Step Muther is the parking pig who gives you a $40 parking ticket for not turning your wheels toward the curb.
- The Step Muther is greedy.
- The Step Muther hurts everyone and benefits no one.

Child labor is a huge problem in developing countries all over the world – though it is most prominent in countries in Africa and Asia. This problem is not going to go away anytime soon. We understand that this problem won’t be abolished because Step Muther Industries decided to sell a few shirts. However, we believe this is one step in the process of fixing the problem.
Think of us as the Green Party: We have no chance at winning the next presidential race, and we know that. But if we want to even a chance of winning a hundred years from now, we better start soon!
That’s the mentality we have at SMI. Regardless, our shirts are high quality, inexpensive and if I do say so myself: kick-ass. In other words, our shirts are not for sale at Wal-Mart
